OLYMPIC GULF TANKERS CO. LTD.

is a Ship Management Company operating Tankers.

 

It is the Company's Policy to continuously promote a Safe & Pollution free operating environment, to implement all aspects of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code and to provide with Quality service which consistently & continuously meets the requirements of its customers.

 

The Companyís objectives regarding the Management System implementation is to:

®          Comply with applicable statutory, legislative and classification society requirements

®          Avoid incidents that could cause human injury, loss of life or damage to the environment, the property and assets under its management.

®          Protect the environment by implementing safe and pollution free operations.

®          Establish safeguards against identified risks

®          Prepare and train shore based and sea going personnel for handling emergency situations

®          Provide for safe practices in ship operation and a safe working environment

®          Improve safety management skills of personnel ashore and onboard ships

®          Meet customer requirements as defined in the Ship Management Agreements and Charter Parties

 

In order to effectively implement its Quality, Safety & Environment Protection Policy the Company:

®          Ensures compliance with all National, International and Flag Administration Legislation

®          Takes into account all related guidelines, standards, codes and publications as applicable

®          Implements a Management System that provides responsibilities and instructions for all items required by the International Safety Management (ISM) Code as amended. This system shall meet as well the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000, ISO14001:2004 standards and OHSAS18001:1999.

®          Implements procedures to prepare and respond to emergency situations

®          Practices at all times procedures for reporting and following up non-conformities and accidents

®          Monitors all safety, operational and technical  aspects of the managed fleet

®          Sets objectives & targets and establishes key performance indicators for key processes affecting quality of service, health and safety, and environmental protection.

®          Provides adequate resources for the effective implementation of the SMS

®          Inspects the managed fleet and carries out necessary maintenance and repairs

®          Continuously improves the SMS by taking necessary action for identified problem areas through the implementation of Internal Auditing and Management Review systems.

 

All Company employees, shore based and sea going, are responsible for implementing the company's Quality, Safety and Environment Protection Policy.

 

The Company's Management is responsible to monitor and review the Quality, Safety & Environment Protection Policy on a regular basis in order to ensure that it remains relevant and effective. As evidence of Managementís commitment on the implementation of the above that policy is to be posted at prominent positions at Companyís premises and onboard managed vessels.
